Information we process

We store the PDFs you upload, previous versions, filenames, document titles, folders, tags, collection membership, display settings and publication links. We process Wix installation identifiers and site-owner and approved-manager identifiers, manager labels, hashed invitation codes, access expiry times and appearance preferences to authenticate access and keep each site's library separate. Support requests contain the information you choose to send us.

Our document analytics record opening and download events, a randomly generated viewing-session identifier, the display or collection identifier, and the date. Papervela does not use advertising cookies or sell personal data. Hosting providers may process IP addresses and technical request information for operation and security.

How we use information

We process information to provide document hosting, publishing, version restoration, search, analytics, support and security. The website owner decides which documents to upload and publish and is responsible for having permission to share their contents. For document content, we act on that owner's instructions. We use account and support information to operate our business and respond to requests.

Public and private documents

New documents are private until published. Published documents can be accessed by anyone with a working public display or collection link. Turning off publication or making a document private blocks future access through Papervela; it cannot recall copies already downloaded or captured. Hiding download and print controls is not copy protection.

Service providers and security

We use Render for application hosting and persistent storage, and Wix for app installation, authentication and widget delivery. These providers may process information outside your country. Application connections use HTTPS and the hosting provider encrypts persistent disks at rest. Authenticated site-owner access, explicit time-limited manager grants and site-scoped access checks protect management operations. Approved managers can access private documents until their access expires or is revoked in Papervela. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Subscriptions

Wix processes subscription payments. We retrieve your installation’s subscription status to enable paid features. We do not receive or store your payment-card details.

Retention and deletion

Documents and earlier versions are retained to support your library and version history. Archiving removes a document from active use but does not permanently erase its files. Uninstalling the app does not itself erase stored documents. Contact us to request permanent deletion of your site's library and related records; we verify that you control the site before acting. We keep up to 28 consistent database recovery checkpoints, normally created every six hours and on server startup, on the application disk. Render also takes daily disk snapshots retained for seven days. Deleted records may remain in these recovery copies until they expire; these are not a separate offsite backup service. Analytics reports cover the last 30 days; older event records are removed when new events are recorded.

Your choices

You can manage document visibility in the app. Contact us to request access, correction, export or deletion, or to raise a privacy concern. Rights depend on the law applicable to you. For a document published on someone else's site, contact that website's owner first.

Changes

We will update this page when practices change and revise its effective date. Material changes will be communicated through available account or app channels.
